Topics include atomic structure, modern theories of the chemical bond, a structured study of the Periodic Table, the chemical properties of the main group and transition elements, and chemical calculations. Modern concepts of inorganic chemistry will be introduced whenever possible. Designed primarily for junior or senior high-school teachers. Credit in this course may not be used toward a graduate degree in chemistry. Preparation for Course P: one year of college chemistry and college mathematics. Cr. 3.
