Hours: 3 Course ID: 004137 Introduces and sensitizes the student to exceptionalities that occur in the development of children. Includes the law as related to serving children with exceptionalities and their families, various disabling conditions, the gifted, advocacy, home-based intervention, referral sources and the process of diagnosing treating, and educating children with exceptionalities. Required 20 hours of field experience. (Faculty may waive this requirement for students who are concurrently enrolled in IECE 190 or IECE 291.) Prerequisite: IECE 180 or coordinator's approval.
