Hours: 3 Course ID: 000518 Presents an inter-disciplinary introduction to Appalachian history, economy, geography, politics, and culture, primarily through exploration of texts about the region, including fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Emphasizes migrations, economy, belief, expression, politics and government, and environment. May also include exploration of regional music, traditional arts, drama, photography, film, and, where applicable community-based explorations of the Appalachian experience. Prerequisite: HUM 202.
