Provides students the opportunity to build their vocabulary and master fine points of grammar by engaging in written composition, preparing oral reports, and reading and discussing current Hebrew periodicals. Seeks to continue to develop students' oral and written proficiency by focusing on the four language skills of listening, reading, speaking, and writing, with a special emphasis on adapting these skills to the demands of day-to-day communication. Although students are expected to learn grammatically correct Hebrew, the emphasis is on functional usage of the language and on communication in context.
