(219) Second semester. Three credits. Prerequisite: BIOL 1107. Recommended preparation: MCB 2210 and 2410 or 2413, which may be taken concurrently. Principles of embryogenesis, pattern formation, and cell differentiation. The focus will be on molecular and cellular aspects of development in several experimental systems, including the mouse, fruit fly, amphibians, and marine invertebrates. Regeneration and stem cell biology will be discussed. Relevance to human development and disease will be emphasized.
