Solutions to these problems depend on information not only from linguistics but also from a variety of other disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, education, ethnic and area studies (including literature), and public administration. Studies the relationship of linguistics to applied linguistics; second language acquisition; second and foreign language teaching; language policy and planning; and the linguistic aspects of multiculturalism.
