Dispels a series of powerful myths associated with U.S. Latinos and in Latin American and Caribbean society, such as racial inferiority, poverty, machismo, and violence. Introduces the construction of Latino, Latin American, and Caribbean identities as well as the politics, economics, history, and culture.
