Accompanies MLS U301. Acquaints students with laboratory safety and specimen handling. Laboratory exercises introduce students to the procedures of basic medical laboratory assays including hematology, urinalysis, serology, body fluid analysis, selected clinical chemistry analyses, and point-of-care testing. An emphasis is placed on both manual and automated methods including quality control, sources of error, data analysis, and results correlation.
