Retired August 31, 2005; the PHY E101 and PHY E102 sequence is replaced by PHY 4111, PHY 4112 and PHY 4113 in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. Continues PHY E101. Introduces magnetism, magnetics fields, electromagnetic induction, electrostatics, and electric circuits. Discusses appropriate topics in optics, nuclear, and atomic physics. Classroom demonstrations and laboratory experiments are an integral part of the course. Is intended for the health professions and science programs and cannot be used for credit toward technology degrees in the Lowell Institute School. Some medical schools have allowed PHY E101 and PHY E102 to be used for admission. Before choosing this sequence, contact the school you wish to apply to for its preference for a physics course sequence.
