Studies typical development and maturation from intrauterine life through old age (senescence). Considers the interaction of body system development and growth on acquisition of and changes in typical skill development. Students are encouraged to apply developmental concepts to case studies and hypothetical clinical situations. Particular attention is paid to infant, childhood, and early adult development as a foundation to the changes that occur later in adulthood and senescence. Adresses physical assessment of the infant and child.
