Retired August 31, 2005; replaced by ETG 4114 in the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. Studies the financial and economic concepts that are required to analyze engineering project financial performance, from the conceptual stage through the engineering and design stages. The objective is to assure, that by the time that substantial monetary investment is required, there is a reasonable expectation that the desired return on investment will be achieved. The analysis examines time value of money, the tax consequences accruing relating to the project, as well as the advantages of utilizing financial leverage provided by various methods of raising required capital.
