Covers object-oriented programming techniques with a hands-on introduction to the Perl language, designed to get students writing useful Perl scripts as quickly as possible. Topics include manipulation of strings, numbers, dates, arrays, and hashes; reading, writing, and updating files; pattern matching and text substitution; subroutine libraries and modules, and CGI programming and Internet applications programming.
