(251) Both semesters. Three credits. Prerequisites: Students must have earned a "C" or higher in NURS3292 or RN license. Open to Nursing Majors Only. Not open to students who have completed NURS 1120. Beginning with Florence Nightingale, the impact of events and the contributions of individuals will be examined in light of present day concerns in the profession of nursing. Issues such as race, class, gender and other social, political and economic factors will be analyzed. Internal and external forces that shape the substance of nursing education, practice, and research will be analyzed.
