Investigates binomial and normal probability distributions. Topics include: probability; confidence intervals; and hypothesis testing using t-tests, chi-square, correlation, and regression. Briefly introduces ANOVA and multivariate analysis. Emphasizes practical application. Laboratory use of the personal computer in statistical problem solving. Prerequisite: Competency in algebra. Corequisite: STAT 415.
