The first in a series of courses in the orthopaedic tract curriculum. Presents the basis for patient management by the physical therapist for patients with functional impairments stemming from orthopedic pathologies for all body regions. Introduces and considers the components of patient/client management throughout the course--including examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcomes. Includes lectures by orthopaedic surgeons to enhance understanding of surgical procedures utilized in the management of the orthopaedic patient, with emphasis on postoperative rehabilitation.
