Prepares the postdoctoral periodontics graduate student to meet requirements for certification by the California Board of Dentistry in the administration of conscious (intravenous) sedation, and to meet the requirements of the Commission of Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association for the teaching of conscious sedation. Includes seminars, laboratory exercises, and literature review seminars that enhance the student's proficiency in the theory and practice of conscious sedation in the dental office. Open to other graduate dentistry programs.
