Release of information in response to subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants. Analysis of consent forms. Assignment for The Federal Register. The concept of improper disclosure and negligence. Reporting requirements. Introduction to the contents of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), with emphasis on the privacy section, and its impact on health care. Field trip to a local legal library.
