A comprehensive, introductory, lecture-based course designed to introduce basic biomedical science graduate students to the cellular and molecular concepts that underlie most forms of neurobiological phenomena. Selected topics include the molecular and cellular components of neuronal excitation and transmission, neuronal development, differentiation and aging, axonal injury and nerve regeneration, and specific cases of nervous system pathology. Prerequisite: (CMBL 541*, CMBL 542*) or CMBL 503* (*may be taken concurrently). Cross-listing: PHSL 544.
