Description:
Students will learn to use knowledge of how young children ages six through eight differ in their development and approaches to learning Social Studies in order to provide individually appropriate opportunities for learning the subject. The course will emphasize teaching in the content of Social Studies and will focus on the Ohio Social Studies academic content standards and the NCSS standards. Field experience is integrated with the primary block. This course is part of the first semester senior year internship and culminates in second semester student teaching. Prerequisite(s): EDT 110, 212, 313; successful completion of field experience. Corequisite(s): EDT 412, 414, 415, 415L, 454.
