This course is the study of the role and function of the early childhood educator in working with learners with mild to moderate disabilities. The course presents issues of definition, identification and placement procedures. The candidate will acquire knowledge of major researchers and historians, variations in belief, traditions and values across cultures, and current practices in the field. Field experience required as part of the K-3 block. Prerequisite(s): EDT 212, 340; successful completion of field experience. Corequisite(s): EDT 412, 413, 414, 415L, 454.
