We will explore the varied genres, structures, and narrative devices used in the writings which constitute the New Testament. We will also study the many historical and contextual understandings of the New Testament, together with its impact on religious and secular cultures. Special attention will be paid to narratives which have substantial reference in art and literature. No prior knowledge of the Bible is assumed.
