3 hours. Fundamental principles of wellness associated with occupational health discussed within the context of music. Course focuses on gaining a practical understanding of occupational injuries including musculoskeletal problems from repetitive tasks, noise induced hearing loss from overexposure to sound, and mental health problems associated with competition at work and economic instability. Emphasis on personal responsibility, injury prevention and the development of lifetime wellness skills. Satisfies a portion of the Understanding the Human Community requirement of the University Core Curriculum.
