4 hours This course addresses IEP implementation, including transition components. Emphasis is on self-determination, self-advocacy, career awareness, and post-school options in specific outcome areas. Topics of study include curriculum standards, lesson planning, basic skills instruction, learning strategies, adapting methods, materials and assessments, positive behavior supports, and progress monitoring. SPED 371: Grades 6-12 Field Experience must be taken concurrently. Prerequisites: SPED 310 & 315. (Spring)
