Magier.A. This is a two-semester course offered through the Penn Language Center. This course introduces students to the basic telugu language skills, with an emphasis on practice for listening comprehension, and speaking telugu. Combined with exposure to Andhra culture, the classroom and online work in this course w ill enable interested students to pursue further language study in Telugu at the intermediate level, to carry out field research in Andhra Pradesh, or to prepare them to advanced work in Telugu Studies. An introduction to telugu like this will also be useful for students who just want to acquire basic telugu langauge skills for learning a new language or being able to communicate with telugu - speaking family and friends or to enjoy Telugu music and films.
