Frankel. An analysis of the rise of Asian nationalism and its intersection with the coldin the making of foreign policy, with a special focus on U.S. India Pakistan Chrelations. The course examines new patterns of US relations with major Asian pin the post cold war period. Course materials draw heavily on declassified govgovernment policy-makers. The materials are a window into the world-view of decision-makers who need to make national security policy based on incomplete information about ambiguous threats. They reveal a great deal about the import of divergent historical and strategic perspectives in the foreign policy-making process.
