McCauley, L.; O'Hara. This course is designed to present an overview of the interdisciplinary nature of monitoring and controlling workplace hazards. Didactic course content on the major factors contributing to occupational health hazards and safety will be presented along with discussion of regulatory and site-specific interventions to promote worker safety and health. Five site visits will be conducted to apply the principles of workplace assessment and to discuss strategies that are used for hazard recognition and evaluation in different work environments. Experts in workplace hazard recognition and control will share current challenges and priorities from their worksites.
