Prerequisite(s): CHEM 101, CHEM 053, CHEM 102, CHEM 054 or NURS 040. 3 h. lect. 4 h. lab. 1 h. rec. Lab fee $100. This lecture and laboratory course covers concepts of Cellular Biochemistry, Microbiology and Molecular Genetics basic to an understanding of the fundamental processes of living organisms. The organization and characteristics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, structural and functional relationships of the major biomolecules, interrelationships of the various metabolic pathways, basics of molecular genetics and immunology.
