An exploration and study of contemporary issues, trends and conditions (factors) affecting the creating and production in the performing and visual arts. Factors may include politics, philanthropic behavior, demographics, technological innovation, the new economy, and changing audience characteristics. Students and faculty will identify factors, contextualize them and develop strategies to address them. Lectures, group problem-solving and field study, plus documentation and a final project will comprise the activities of this course.
