Vann. Prerequisite(s): Bio 446 or equivalent statistics course; Bio 556 suggested or other Inferential Statistics courses, covering uni- and multi-variate techniques. Univariate and multivariate approaches to the analysis of spatial correlation and variability. Many disciplines, including geology, ecology and the environmental sciences regularly need to analyze and make predictions from data that is spatially autocorrelated. Mine reserve estimation, pollutant dispersal and the use of randomization tests in ecology are examples of where spatial statistics may be applied.
