Distribution Course in Arts & Letters. Class of 2009 & prior only. [Formerly ENGL 096]. This course will examine the relationship between early English literature and that of ancient Greece and Rome. At times will will discuss how classical theories of genre and aesthetics were appropriate and reinvented in medieval, raniassance, and seventeenth-century texts.
