Thomas. This course will focus on the professional role of the counselor across settings and across time with discussion of the history of the field and future trends. In this process we will explore professional identity, role, and relationships. Ethics and their application across situations and professional settings are foundational to our roles as counselors and will be addressed in depth throughout the course. The goal is to develop an awareness of the boundaries, ethics, and practice roles of the counselor across professional settings.
