Xuan. Prerequisite(s): CHIN041 or permission of the instructor. Offered through the Penn Language Center. This course does not count toward the language requirement in the College of Arts and Sciences. Beginning Cantonese is a preliminary course for spoken Cantonese. The course provides fundamental aspects of the dialect as experienced in daily life situations and will enable students to communicate in Cantonese for basic survival needs. The course will be completed in two semesters.
