Thomas. Prerequisite(s): EDUC 687, formal admission into Professional Counseling and Psychology M.Phil.Program. This course will address issues regarding the expectations, role, and identity of the professional counselor. Topics include the relationships of counselors to other professionals, ethics and legal issues, consultation, credentials, and current trends in the field. The goal is to develop an advanced understanding of the role of counselors across settings and to begin to prepare for work in the field.
