Attention given to the structure of social relationships and how they relate to health, illness, and the medical institutions in society. The social meanings of health, illness, and medical care will be studied individually and structurally, including a global perspective. A culminating experience-integrating theory, methods, and scholarly writing-is required.Prerequisites & Notes PRQ: SOCI 280; SOCI 301 or SOCI 302; and SOCI 377A or SOCI 377B; or consent of department.
