Structure and function of land plants, especially seed plants. Special emphasis on diversity of plant form, including development, embryogeny, meristematic growth and structural and functional interrelations of plant organs. Also, introduction to plant hormones, photosynthesis, aspects of genetic engineering and biotechnology. Prerequisites: BIO 111 and BIO 112. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week. CREDIT FOUR SEMESTER HOURS.
