An introduction to the structure and function of microorganisms with special emphasis on bacteria and viruses. The important basic principles of modern Biology, such as metabolism and genetics, are emphasized. Prerequisites: BIO 111 and BIO 112 or BIO 115 and BIO 116. Three hours of lecture and one three-hour laboratory per week. CREDIT FOUR SEMESTER HOURS.
