Class lectures present general background information on the artistic movements, philosophical vogues, and historical events that have directly contributed to the course of Spanish literature of the past three centuries. We read and discuss works by such authors as Bécquer, Galdós, Pardo Bazán, Unamuno, Lorca, Cela, and Martín Gait
