With the help of sociological concepts, theories, and methods, students analyze both the internal organization and the practices of the armed forces and the relationships between the military and other institutions. Additional topics include recent Congressional hearings and military policies on race relations, women in combat, sexual harassment, sexual orientation, and quality-of-life issues.
