Credits: 3 Prerequisites: STA 11or permission of instructor Corequisites: None Type: LEC Familiarizes students with PC-based statistical computing applications for public health, and is a companion course for STA 11Introduction to Probability and Statistics II. Develops basic skills in the use of a statistical package through classroom demonstrations and independent lab assignments that complement the material covered in STA 112. Emphasizes data definition, verification, descriptive and inferential statistics, and graphical presentation. In addition, the course gives students the skills needed for effective data management, data manipulation, and data analysis at a basic level.
