Through a comparative analysis of Hollywood films and Asian American films and videos, we seek a better understanding of the tactics and specific historical contexts for constructing identities of race, gender, ethnicity, and sexuality. This understanding provides a historical and critical perspective for examining both the content and technique of Asian Americans films and videos.
