Discussion focuses on patterns of behavioral variability between and within human populations. Topics include issues of reciprocity, foraging theory, the sexual division of labor, and evolutionary economics. Designed for students interested in human ecology, cultural anthropology, archaeology, primatology, and human paleontology. Seminar is designed to be one of a sequence that includes APY 416, although students can take one seminar without having taken the other.
