For first-year Sociology doctoral students only. The principles for becoming an effective instructor, adviser, and mentor to undergraduates. Topics: ethics, course organization and syllabus development, test construction and grading, conflict resolution, common classroom problems, and University policies related to matters such as sexual harassment. Technologies and other topics related to making effective presentations, and campus resources to improve classroom performance.
