3 hours. An overview of pharmacology based on principles of drug action; emphasis on drugs by class, and not specific drugs per se. General principles, antibiotics and pharmacology of the autonomic, cardiovascular, central nervous and endocrine systems. Prerequisite(s): BIOL 3800 and second term/semester organic chemistry (may be taken concurrently) or consent of instructor. May not be repeated at the graduate level as BIOL 5150.
