(lecture-2 cr., clinical-2 cr.) This course is designed to enable the student to participate in the professional and technical components of perioperative nursing practice with supervision. Learning opportunities include care of the patient undergoing the stress of surgery in the pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases. The student participates as a member of the surgical team in the circulating and scrub nurse's role. The student will also participate in the care of the patient pre-operatively by doing admission assessments.
