(3 cr.) This course will consist of a survey of descriptive and inferential statistics at an introductory level, with a brief look at multivariate statistics. Probability theory will be included. The focus will include the most commonly reported statistics in the nursing literature. The purpose, assumptions, and limitations of statistics that are considered will be presented. Tools and techniques for data presentation and analysis will be introduced. These topics will be considered from the perspective of research in nursing and health care.
