Analysis of elements of surface mine operation and design of surface mining system components with emphasis on minimization 128 Colorado School of Mines Undergraduate Bulletin 2008-2009 of adverse environmental impact and maximization of efficient use of mineral resources. Ore estimates, unit operations, equipment selection, final pit determinations, short- and longrange planning, road layouts, dump planning, and cost estimation. Prerequisite: MNGN210 and MNGN300. 2 hours lecture, 3 hours lab; 3 semester hours.
