This course will explore the notion that life is a journey, be it a spiritual one to discover one's self or geographical one to discover other lands and other people. The exploration will rely on the major literary genres- drama, fiction, and poetry-and include authors such as Colorado School of Mines Undergraduate Bulletin 2008-2009 101 Twain, Hurston, Kerouac, Whitman, and Cormac McCarthy. A discussion course. Prerequisite: LAIS100. Prerequisite or corequisite: SYGN200. 3 hours lecture/discussion; 3 semester hours.
