3 HOURS A survey of the history and literature from the Baroque and Classical periods. The course stresses the development of musical styles, forms, and media through the study of representative compositions and composers. Music, including examples related to non-Western cultures, is studied within the context of its social-cultural epoch. It is recommended that the students complete HUM 202 prior to enrolling in 332.
