3 HOURS A survey of the history and literature of music from the Romantic period through the present day. The course stresses the development of musical styles, forms, and media through visual and aural analysis of representative compositions. Music, including examples relating to non-Western cultures, is studied within the context of its respective social-cultural epoch. It is recommended that the student complete HUM 202 prior to enrolling in MUS 333. (Fall, odd years)
