1 HOUR Students are provided a foundation into the fundamentals of the VCSU Football Strength Program. Students will have a general knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology used within the program. Students are taught the proper mechanics of Olympic Lifts such as the Power Clean and Squat. Each student should be able to demonstrate all the lifts used within the program in a safe manner, as well as, spotting techniques for any lift used within the program. (Fall) HPER 207 PREVENTION & CARE OF ATHLETIC INJURIES 2 HOURS Methods of prevention and caring for the various types of injuries received in activities. The course includes a study of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for common athletic injuries from a coach's perspective. The course includes a unit on athletic taping techniques and instruction in the universal precaution of AIDS and other infectious diseases. (Fall, Spring)
